TYSON FOODS                                                                                              

  • Established and led Tyson’s DE&I office & served as Chief Architect of Tyson’s enterprise-wide DE&I strategy. Managed budgets, 2 FTs, and 8 BRGs

  • Launched an internal DE&I educational certificate program that certified over 100 Tyson team members (3-month pilot program)

  • Collaborated with HR on recruiting diverse candidates (at all levels)

  • Created and implemented a DE&I communications plan, including DE&I calendar/celebrations

  • Created Tyson’s inaugural CEO DE&I Council (best practice)

  • Tyson Foods was recognized by both LATINO and Latino Leaders magazines as one of the “Best Companies for Latinos to Work For” in 2022

 

CARNIVAL CORPORATION

  • Developed and implemented a U.S.-based corporate affairs strategy, the first of its kind for the corporation.

  • Redesigned and managed the corporate website.

  • Created an award-winning DEI campaign that highlighted our diverse workforce and boardroom

  • Generated over 1.4 billion impressions as a result of dozens of TV interviews, print and digital stories on a U.S.-based cruise ship return to Cuba in more than 50 years

  • Serves as the Company's Spanish-speaking spokesperson

HISPANIC ASSOCIATION ON CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY (HACR)

  • Propelled budget from $1.1M to $2.5M during one of the worst economic periods in U.S. history, by nearly doubling corporate memberships, increasing from 28 to 53 and attracting such brands such as American Express, Chevron, GE, Target, Time Warner, Toyota and Univision, among others.

  • Revamped and re-launched the HACR Corporate Inclusion Index; successfully completed four surveys/reports and increased corporate participation by more than 40% over a four-year period.

  • Designed several innovative programs (over a two-year period) that targeted corporate executives and senior management, including the HACR CEO Roundtable, the Corporate Directors Summit™, the Corporate Executives Forum™, and the HACR Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers™ Program.

  • Produced organization’s first-ever documentary, Insider Game, as part of HACR’s “Advocate” campaign that highlights the experience of Latinos serving on corporate boards; documentary earned three awards: 1 CINE Golden Eagle & 2 Bronze Tellies.

INSIDER GAME DOCUMENTARY SERIES

  • Challenge: How do you bring to life an issue three decades old: the lack of Hispanic inclusion on Fortune 500 boards? 

  • Solution:

    • Create a program that brings two dozen Latino corporate board members together annually

    • Document gathering by producing an award-winning, two-part documentary series that highlighted the issue and featured Fortune 500  board members, CEOs, and governance advocates. 

    • Advocate at the SEC for new disclosure rules

    • Create a new nonprofit: the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) as a result of these efforts

ANHEUSER-BUSCH, INC.

  • Created and implemented a new measurable sampling opportunity, “Summer of Beer, Summer of Fun” in the greater Los Angeles market during the most important beer-selling season (Memorial Day – Labor Day)

  • Worked collaboratively with Sales Regions and distributors to maximize sponsorship opportunities

  • Managed corporate giving, philanthropic initiatives, media relations, and endorsements in a three-state region

FORD MOTOR COMPANY

  • Community Relations: Worked closely with political, business, and civic associations to advance economic development issues; secured state grants to fund training for plant workers.

  • Public Affairs: Overcame intense opposition and objection for local community to execute shutdown and final closure of manufacturing plant that took four years; strategically managed public relations, external affairs to protect company brand during lengthy, emotionally charged process.

  • Corporate Giving: Directed corporate and philanthropic initiatives; implemented state governmental relations programs in the Southeast region; and managed an $11M national budget along with 100+ programs and initiatives.

  • Public Relations: Teamed with elected officials to develop/manage signature programs to keep community engaged; drove key PR initiatives to preserve brand reputation; coordinated two "Job One" launches.
